# How to Set Presearch as Your Default Search Engine on the Chrome App in Android

1. Open the Google Chrome app on your Android device.
2. Tap the three dots in the top-right corner of the screen.
3. Go to Settings, then scroll down and tap Search engine. At this point, you likely won’t see Presearch listed yet. That’s expected.
4. Go back to the Chrome home screen and visit [https://presearch.com](https://presearch.com/).
5. Perform 2–3 searches on Presearch to help Chrome recognize it as a search engine.
6. Close and reopen the Chrome app.
7. Again, go to Settings → Search engine.
8. You should now see Presearch as an available option. Tap it to make it your default search engine.

9\. From now on, all searches from the address bar in Chrome will be powered by Presearch.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.presearch.io/presearch-engine/faq/how-to-set-presearch-as-your-default-search-engine-on-the-chrome-app-in-android.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
